Representational

This recent painting is a typical example of my representational style. I love to paint water in situations which offer a natural balance of movement, light and colour. Foreground highlights provided by grasses or seed heads, bring a sense of scale and perspective without obstructing the larger view.

I find that autumn and winter colours bring a richness and character to a landscape which can be hidden during the dominant greens of summer.
